The Morbid The Merrier's Closing

I wondered of anyone else wanted to compare notes on their situation with this store's closing and final sales. I really trust Lysa, but within the past two weeks she went totally missing and now I am concerned. I talked to her the end of last month  and she said that she was still behind, but I would still get my order. I have a good bit of money out and it is way after the date to file a PP claim. I am now noticing more and more people on her store's FB page showing a lot of concern and anger about this situation. I would feel so much better if she was active on her blog or facebook with updates on shipping of these packages. I am starting to get that sinking feeling that my birthday money may be long gone and I may not see my order as well :(. Does anyone know anything about filing claims with your credit card if it is past the PP claim date? I hate to do this, but I am feeling it may be my only option since I am not seeing a genuine concern on her end right now. This is really hurtful to me since I really put a lot of trust in her and thought she would come through for her customers.

I placed an order for 3 bottles the day she announced the closing (March 26) & got my order about a month later. They weren't packed as well as they had been previously, were smaller bottles than they had been previously, and all the thoughtful bits (tissue paper wrappings, handwritten thank-you, samples,) had gone by the wayside, which I'd largely expected but was sad to see. I also didn't get a shipping notification, the order simply showed up.

If she is disappearing on her customers, I hate to hear that. I was her biggest champion and spent more money with her than with BPAL, and talked her up to everyone. :|

I'm one of the people that ordered in the last couple of days she was open, as was a friend of mine, and neither of us have seen our order. I know my friend had ordered many times over the past couple of years from her with no concerns, but this isn't looking good :(

Also, it appears she has a new etsy shop called lucybelle - the banner images match some lip balm covers exactly from 2010, dates/location line up, the new items bear a striking resemblance to tmtm style, and the word smithing is pretty exact. Interesting, yet sad, that she closes tmtm with little notice, as though it's almost an emergency, but opens a new shop the same day? I admit, I'm always a touch on the suspicious side so maybe this isn't what it seems. But 2 months and not even an email and I'm not feeling terribly charitable.

Wow. Thanks for posting the info on Lucybelle. TMTM seems to be running into GJ terror-tory. I wouldn't trust someone who talked about a business being too much for them to handle, only to open another one. Is it some kind of business tax thing? Just like GJ would list more oils without sending out orders, not sending orders while using that energy to create another store is odd. Why not use that energy for current orders to your old business and keep your happy customers, maybe move them eventually to your other business?

I don't get the madness. First GJ and no TMTM. I love their products and got nothing but excellent service until they went all wonky. It's disappointing.

Not quite on the same level, but when you mentioned her new shop to me I sent her a message about Paramour, and never heard from her. I understand being busy or backed up but it's just disappointing when someone can't even communicate with you.

I remember that day. I was hoping she would have been descent to you and at least replied back. I guess you are better off that you did not get an order in. This is a real mess :(

I was once in a dispute with a seller and contacted my credit card company (Visa). The representative told me credit card claims could be filed up to four months after the purchase. I'm in Canada but the terms may be the same for the U.S.

That is really too bad about TMTM. I remember the great service and her products are excellent.

Despite things not looking good, I really hope everyone gets their products or a refund eventually. :/ I think it may be best to file with Paypal or credit card for the time being.

I just read a post on her FB that someone wrote in her behalf that she plans on issuing refunds, but she does not have the money to do so right now. I really had a lot of faith and trust in her as a person. I have talked to her many times via FB and other messaging and she has always done right by me. I was at day 40 or so and was going to file a claim with PP. I took her word that packages were coming out slowly. I am now reading all the messages from her customers that she has not answered and feel now I should have went with my gut and filed. I am calling my CC today since I am out a substantial amount of money. I actually spent my entire amount of birthday money since I wanted back ups of so many scents. I guess I need to just cut my losses and try to get my money back. I really appreciate all of your help. I am not one to stir the pot, but I am seeing I am not the only one in this sad situation.

Ok, I just filed a claim with my credit card. I used it to pay through PP so they said that they contact PP and give it two weeks for a response. I am not sure how this all works, but I hope I am covered for my loss even if there is no money in her account to make a return to my CC. They said I would receive a letter in the mail. They also agreed that I was probably not going to get a refund if it is this far gone. I think that Lysa was running her other Etsy shop to get funds to fill her outstanding orders. I really wish she would have thought out her closing and only sold the stock she had on hand. It seemed like she let it all be a free for all and worried about it later. It is really sad since her perfumes were and still are some of my all time favorites :(.

What an ordeal. I'm sorry to hear it ended up this way. I really do like Lysa and I am very sad to see her go, especially like this.
